I spent the first decade of my career in magazine journalism, rising from intern to managing editor of several publications,
and eventually editor-in-chief. Long-form journalism allows me to showcase my writing skills and offers a lot of creative freedom.
Being part of an internal editorial team allows me to collaborate with design, video and photography staff to envision the holistic life cycle of the piece.

Making A SceneLocal arts profile
The conversations about fine arts in Jacksonville often sound the same as those had about Downtown.
“It has potential.” “We’re not there yet.” However, there’s more here than meets the eye—if one knows where to look. On the ground, in studios, in our schools, on stages, in boardrooms and offices and elsewhere, one will find women artists and creative thinkers. I interviewed a dozen creative women for this feature article centering on the growing arts scene in Jacksonville, Florida. Originally published in Jacksonville Magazine's October 2017 issue. |

Three's A CrowdEvent coverage
The world's largest crowdfunding festival draws hundreds of creators, thousands of spectators and entrepreneurs aplenty during its third annual downtown spectacle.
For this 2015 Jacksonville Magazine feature article, I spent the weekend at One Spark, formerly a crowdfunding festival held in Downtown Jacksonville, interviewing creators, idea-makers, attendees and organizers. With an eye toward content marketing, I was able to repurpose many of the photos and interviews I shot during the event as several highly engaging social media posts for the magazine. |
